Logistics: About 1 hour from Cancun Airport, in Tulum
Arrival: Shares space and beach with El Dorado Seaside Suites (EDSS) so when you enter their driveway, you pull up in front of EDSS and their lobby and as you look to the left, there is a gorgeous arched gateway with plants and flowers growing around it and you enter that gate onto the property and gardens of Hidden Beach.
You stroll down a pretty walkway and enter a really pretty lobby, which is also where the internet is located, always up and on for your use. There, you are greeted with champagne and cool towels and a shoulder massage while you are being checked in and briefed.
Staff: The staff is well versed in their English and they are extremely friendly and helpful. They will take very good care of you and will show you a great time.
Accommodations: The accommodations are incredible! Large rooms, king beds with excellent mattresses and really cozy covers and lots of pillows. The beds sit high up off the floor (I am 5′4 and I had to climb up into the bed, which was great!) with sheers on all corners from the ceiling. The furniture is oak with nightstands, kitchen sized oak table and chairs, liquor dispenser, oak armoir with 25 inch new TV inside (several cable channels), mini-fridge stocked daily with whatever you desire, coffee pot, large closet, and a huge jacuzzi that is filled when you enter, with flower pedals floating on top of the water. This is not a jacuzzi tub, this is large, and every room has these amenities.
The bathrooms are equally large and they are tiled with lots of counter space, insets with pottery or plants in them, a tile wall separating the toilet and the shower. Very very spacious.
Every room faces the ocean, whether it’s a swim up room or an upstairs room. The upstairs rooms (only 3 floors) you enter from the gardens side, and the swim up rooms you can just use your sliding glass doors to enter and exit right to the pools and ocean.
The jacuzzi swim up rooms are awesome! Everyone of them has a large balcony with two lounge chairs and a hammock, then you can step right into the water and make your way to the swim up bar and large pool area, or you can sit there on the the built in seats and table right in front of your room. Every swim up room has their own. The upstairs rooms have enclosed balconies, located over the swim up rooms. There is also a large jacuzzi that seats about 10 couples comfortably.
Cuisine: Meals can be taken nude or clothed, but no matter what you do, you must always use a towel to sit on. There are towel stations all over the property and these are kept full and the towels are large beach towels, very nice and soft.
There is 24/7 room service at no extra charge. There is an indoor restaurant that leads out to several tables and chars around the pool and at all meals, you can either dine in or bring our your meal or they will bring it out to you.
Breakfast starts around 7a and you can either buffet or order and they will bring it to you. There is soft meditative music playing during breakfast. There is a healthy mix of meats, omelets made to order, cereals, juices, toasts, and fruits.
Lunches are same, either buffet or you can order, hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, etc. Every day at lunch, however, they bring out a huge grill and a chef and he cooks something different every day out by the pool. You can eat where ever you like, even in the water in front of your room, at the in-water tables.
Dinners, also same, but with many more choices. On Friday nights, they have a greeting dinner for the entire guest list, that is dress up or down, but they set up tables and chairs out by the pool area and they bring your meals out and they entertain and put on a great show for you.
Beach: There are many lounge chairs and palapas on the beach. There are also about 10 swaying ‘beds’ with several pillows to prop up on, and these are under palapas as well. Each of these also have sheers available to lower if you like They are all facing the ocean and can be private. A few of these even have an upper bed and at night, you can sleep there and they will bring you champagne and then you can lower the sheers and close out the property and view the ocean all nite. There is a nice stretch of private beach. There is not another property to the left side and El Dorado is to the right.
Activities: There is the afternoon game of tequila volleyball in main pool. There are various other things going on from time to time as well, but nothing obtrusive. Residents of Hidden Beach can dress and go over to El Dorado and use their facilities and restaurants. The water sports desk is also on the El Dorado property so if you wish to kayak or windsurf or snorkel, you have to dress and go to that side to do those things.
There is also a store over at El Dorado if you need anything, as well as other restaurants available to you, but you must be clothed to enter their property.
Disco: Hidden Beach has a rooftop disco that views the entire property and the ocean and they have a pool table there and great music, and any entertainment that might be performing will be there at night as well. Attire is nude and/or lingerie. The disco opens around 9p and stays open til about 1a or later depending on attendance.
Summary: A very elegant, upscale nude adults only resort, appealing to both couples and singles alike. It is very intimate, as in there are not many suites, and it is private. It is also very comfortable! I highly recommend Hidden Beach for the romantic, fun, nude vacation.
