Review: Kathy Drew - May ‘07

Key Selling Points:
This resort has just opened and it is Grand!!! It is absolutely goregous! This is the newest of all the Iberostar’s and Adult Only!

Impression of Service:
This resort is all about service.
There is someone available at all times to help you with your needs from:

Personalized butler service
Concierge service in your building
Pillow menu in all rooms
Welcome cocktail & refreshing face towel
Unlimited juices and soft drinks
Unlimited alcoholic beverages
Concierge and waiter service at the pool
Inernet access in all guest rooms, free of charge and there is an internet room in the lobby.

Type of Clients best suited for this resort:
This is a very upscale resort….high level of service, a la cart restaurants, this is not a resort to get a pizza and beer. Very quiet and relaxing. The Ritz Carlton style.

Location of the resort:
This resort is located right next to the Iberostar Maya. This nice thing with the Grand…if you want to visit any of the other properties for the pool, restaurants or any reason you can. You have access to the Maya, Lindo, Paraiso Beach and Del Mar.

Attractions close to the Hotel:
Iberostar just built a new shopping mall area at the main entrance of the complex with a several restaurants, disco, shops and a Chapel.

The Resort Entrance:
As you walk into the resort you see all types of blown glass and marble thru out the lobby and lobby bar. In the center of the lobby area is a huge atrium with lush trees and gardens. This resort is all about marble, glass and the light fixtures are amazing…especially at night.

Guest Rooms:
Beautifull marble floors, fine linens and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on..fantastic. The bathrooms are large. Free internet access in the guest room. Beautiful lighting in the rooms.

Facilities

Restaurants:
(4)a la carte restaurants (Italian, International Food, Steak & Seafood and Japanese) with oceanviews, Access to all the other restaurants in the Iberostar complex, (5) Bars, 24 hour room service. All of the restaurants are just beautiful with fantastic menus and the service was just…top notch! **Dres code** Long pants and sleeved shirts are mandatory for gentlemen.

Pools:
(3) Pools, main pool to the beach with a swim-up pool bar, tranquiltiy pool and Spa pool, inside.

Beach:
Large beach with a good areas for swimming, and snorkeling areas. Plenty of chairs and shade.

Golf Course:
Close by and I did not see but I heard it was wonderful. Nice 19th hole restaurant.

Tennis Courts:
2 with instruction from 8am - 11am.

Spa:
The spa is out side of the Hotel between the Grand and the Maya. This building is all glass, two stories with a pool in the center, health bar at one end and the reception desk at the other end. The spa treatment rooms are upstairs and the workout facility is on the first floor. A great area to relax out of the sun.

Entertainment:
Coliseo Theatre, this is air conditioned with very comfortabe chairs to view the nightly shows. There is a bar located within the theatre also.
