During Travel - Answers |
How can I call home? |
- Purchase a calling card prior to your departure or while in your destination. This is generally less expensive than making direct dial calls from your hotel room.
Will my cell phone work on my vacation? |
- Bring your cell phone, as most Caribbean destinations have US-compatible cell service. Depending on your equipment and calling plan, a cell call will probably be less than a call from your room. Have a calling card available in case cell phone coverage is not available. You can check with your cellular phone service provider prior to departure to find out if they offer service in your destination are and to determine if any special settings need to be set when you arrive.
How can family members reach me? |
- Family members can call the resort directly and ask to be connected to your room. Your hotel phone number is often listed on your travel documents. If you are not able to locate the number for the resort, contact your GoAwayTravel.com agent.
Do I need to convert my money to local currency when I arrive at my destination? |
- It is generally not necessary to exchange your money for local currency, as US dollars, traveler's cheques and major credit cards are widely accepted. Because the vendors often have a limited amount of change available in US currency, it is a good idea to bring a number of smaller bills with you or to exchange larger bills for smaller denominations at your hotel's front desk.

Who do I call when I can not resolve an issue at a hotel? |
- Most travel packages include the services of an on-site or in-destination representative. The contact number for these parties will be listed in your travel documents. If no such number is listed, please contact your GoAwayTravel.com agent for assistance.
